"E"qual
For the NYC based DJ you should go to Equal
1. “E”qual is a Japanese rapper under Columbia Music Entertainment. He has put out four albums in the past two years, the most recent being "King & Queen" (out July 18, 2007). He has also been featured in many other artists'/groups' songs, including YAKKO for AQUARIUS, and has had many other artists/groups featured in his songs, including Foxxi misQ, YA-KYIM, DABO, HI-D, and Full Of Harmony. He has also collaborated with ARIA on her second album "The Jukebox".
2. Equal
is an New York City DJ and music producer originally from Asheville, NC. His days are spent perfecting his highly anticipated self titled EP, and his nights are spent wooing crowds all over the world, from New York City’s hottest parties for the downtown club kids and fashion elite to large scale events and festivals such as Bonnaroo, and from Halloween in Tokyo to New Years Eve on the Sydney Harbor, Australia. There have been underground dance parties in Tel Aviv, warehouse parties in France, and a residency in Romania last summer to name a few recent musical adventures.
The move into production was a natural one – Equal is a lifetime drummer from a musical family. Creating and licensing an MTV Commercial gave him the bug and pushed him to produce and release his first single “Lost in the Evening feat. Gary Jules” in 2013.
Equal is also called upon to handle top tier private events, like Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year Awards, Art Basel at The Versace Mansion, private parties for Marc Jacobs and Saint Laurent, numerous Fashion Week events in New York and Paris, and is a favorite at cultural events for Summit Series. Equal handles each diverse setting like the southern gentleman he is, with a dash of the city’s sartorial elegance and wit, and exciting energy and skills to match.
DJ Equal can be found spinning in NYC’s hottest clubs, as well as touring around the world. From Cabo to Sydney – you can find him at the biggest festivals and sharing the stage with big names, like Pharrell, Pusha T, AlunaGeorge, Solange, Bag Raiders, Lloyd Banks, Miami Horror, and A-Trak.
