Тамлин
In the story of our songs one can hear murmur voices of water streams, rustle of wind in the crowns of giant beeches, voices of birds and animals, kindly smiles and light words. People that still believe in miracles and coloring of lands, where crossed shabby shoes of fate, gave us the subjects. And heart prompted the notes. And let the songs that were born, more look like their masters, than like gently preserved souvenirs.
The Tamlin band appeared in 2003. All began with the record of experimental ambient album without a name, which in discography is still marked as "Tamlin or Julia's Vynogradoff Dreams". It pretty quickly found its audience in Russia, Poland and Lithuania. So Tamlin got its first fans. Then, in far 2003, Julia and Oleg, the founders of the band, decided to make their music free and the second album – "Shadows of Past" – published on the Moshkov's portal. Discs also were presented at "Morgesnstern", festival, that took place in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine, in April 2004. In summer that year band moves to Germany.
Links with German musicians, nostalgia and foreign culture had a strong influence on next four albums of the band. Oleg at the same time started to play in German heavy metal band "Burning buses". Tamlin also became a little bit harder. Together with studio work duet actively travels trough the Europe and make small sessions under open skies. In that period were created two videos – "Raven" and "Dr. Robin". After the presentation on German TV-Channel OK-KL, these video clips were published in Internet by band's moderator Ulev. Videos are available on ukrainian Internet-TV "Repka".
In the beginning of the autumn 2007 Tamlin returns to Ukraine. From that time it is no more a duet. Now they have a regular staff.
In the new band were invited musivians from well-known ukrainian bands (Oleg Faliy from Molot Vedm and Daniil Rafalskiy from Kent-avr) as well as musicians, who had befere solo-projects (Anna Timoschenko and Michail Somov).
After two months new Tamlin plays at couple of sessions and makes a concert for Waldorf school. Then they play unplugged on the presentation of new book by Nataliya Devyatko.
Their style Tamlin themselves characterize as folk-rock. They actively use different ethno-instruments. In their music are places for Armenian duduk, Chinese Hu Lu Si, Irish Harp, Australian Didgeridoo, Russian Balalaika and quite modern e-guitar. One of the band's visit cards is also change of instruments during show. After the release of new album – "On the Winter's threshold" in Februar 2008 Tamlin were invited to international annual festival Chugunkon. This trip brought the band new friends and fans, but was a hard test to relationships in the group. After festival band looses Daniil (mandolin and bass-guitar), who still couldn't got used to unmetal music.
But finds two great musicians with wider musical vision - MISHANYA (acoustic guitar and mandolin) and multiinstrumentalist VAKHOR.
Now Tamlin stands on crossroads. But it's normal condition for the ones, who saw many roads.
Little rest – and I'm back on my roooooooad agaaaaain, let us seeeeee, what's across thaaaat pass! :o)
