城南海
Minami Kizuki (城南海, born 1989) is a Japanese singer. She was born in Amami-Oshima, Kagosima, Japan and began playing the classical piano at the age 3. She began to sing Amami Island folk songs called shima-uta after having left the island at the age of 15. She contracted with a label at the age of 18 and made her recording debut in 2009. Her first single "Aitsumugi" was topped CD sales chart in Kagoshima. The character of her songs is her clear and sweet voice with dynamic and unique vocalism of shima-uta. She performed at the open-air music festival "ECLIPSE2009" which celebrates the greatest total eclipse of the sun in this century after an interval of 46 years that can be observed in Japan, especially in Amami-Oshima. (July 16-25, 2009) Also, she performed in New York City for the celebration of Sakura Matsuri at the at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden in May 2009.
