Dai Hirai is a Japanese singer and songwriter, born in Tokyo on May 3rd, 1991.
From an early age, he was influenced by his father who loves the guitar and surfing. He became more interested in music at the age of 3 when his grandmother gave him a ukulele. At 17, he received from his father music editing software. It is from that time he began composing his own music, which is a mixture of sounds of the islands (with the ukulele in particular) and Japanese pop.
In March 2011, he played at the largest event of Hawaii, Honolulu Festival. Pacific Harmony was the official theme of the festival and cultural policy. Then, he released a song in collaboration with Alexxx, Island Girl, which ranked first in the weekly charts Recochoku. On May 11, 2011, he released his first mini album OHANA only on I-Tunes which ranked third in the overall charts. Summer 2011, he had no new material but played many concerts nd festivals.
