藤本美貴
Miki Fujimoto (藤本美貴; married name Miki Shouji (庄司美貴), born on February 26, 1985 in Takikawa, Hokkaidou, Japan) is a Japanese former idol singer and actress, also known as "Mikitty". She was originally part of the group of finalists in the 4th generation Morning Musume auditions that resulted in the induction of Ishikawa Rika, Yoshizawa Hitomi, Tsuji Nozomi and Kago Ai. Miki also auditioned for Avex's girl group dream.
While not selected at that time, in early 2001 Miki was contacted again and offered a chance to debut as a solo artist. According to her Morning Musume x Tsunku 2 interview, during her training period Miki also worked as a receptionist at Hello! Project's agency, Up-Front Works.
After training for a little more than a year, Miki made her solo debut with her first single, "Aenai Nagai Nichiyoubi", in March 2002, which charted at #13 on the weekly Oricon charts. She also made guest appearances on Morning Musume's concert tour "Love is Alive!". In September of that year her third and most successful single, "Romantic Ukare Mode", was released. The song charted at #3 on Oricon, and quickly became a classic among fans.
Miki was a member of the group Gomattou in 2002 with two other Hello! Project soloists, Goto Maki (a former Morning Musume member), and best friend Matsuura Aya.
In 2003, her first (and only) solo album, MIKI 1, was released. Later that year, after a successful performance on Kouhaku Uta Gassen, the annual New Year's Eve music event, H!P Producer Tsunku added her to Morning Musume as a part of the sixth generation. Later that year, Miki also became a member of Country Musume, along with Asami Konno, replacing Rika Ishikawa.
Fujimoto was added to the futsal team Gatas Brilhantes H.P. in February 2004. When Mari Yaguchi abruptly resigned from the group in April 2005, due to a scandal, Fujimoto became the subleader of Morning Musume, supporting Hitomi Yoshizawa as the new leader.
In June 2006, it was announced that Fujimoto would form a new unit called GAM along with Aya Matsuura. GAM released three singles over the coming months, followed by their first album in May 2007. Their first concert tour began on May 26th, 2007.
On May 6th, 2007, Hitomi Yoshizawa graduated from Morning Musume and Fujimoto became the new leader with Ai Takahashi taking her place as subleader.
On May 25th, 2007, Fujimoto was revealed in Friday magazine to have been dating Tomoharu Shouji, part of comedy duo Shinagawa Shouji. Fujimoto herself confirmed the rumour in a radio interview within days of the story breaking. As a result, on June 1st, Fujimoto, following in the footsteps of Mari Yaguchi, quit Morning Musume without receiving a graduation. Fujimoto remained within Hello! Project as a solo artist, and released her sixth and final single, "Okitegami". No more releases followed, and Fujimoto eventually graduated with the rest of the Elder Club in early 2009.
Shortly after her graduation, in March 2009, Fujimoto announced that she was engaged to Tomoharu Shouji. The two were married in Hawaii in July of that year. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
