まつきあゆむ
Ayumu Matsuki (まつきあゆむ born June 7, 1983 in Toride, Ibaraki Prefecture) is a Japanese singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He plays all the instruments featured in his recordings himself (usually guitar, bass guitar, piano, drums, vocals). In addition to creating original songs, he also likes making covers; some covers he has done include songs by Nirvana, The Beatles, Houkago Tea Time, and 中島愛 (Megumi Nakajima).
Ayumu Matsuki began recording music at home at the age of 14. In college he hosted a weekly radio show, by which his music gained recognition and was featured on a NOISE McCARTNEY RECORDS compilation album. He was picked up by the indie label mona records soon after, and released his first album, 自宅録音 (Jitaku Rokuon, "Recorded At Home"), in 2005. To date Ayumu Matsuki has released a total of 8 albums, the most recent of which is titled It's Just a Brave Story and was released digitally on February 17, 2012.
Because he is currently self-produced, he has set up a donation site, Matsuki Ayumu Fund, where fans can donate money directly to him to be used only for creating music, and the site lists each expense in detail, in the spirit of "100% communication between the artist and listeners".
