扭曲的机器
Twisted Machine was formed in 1998, the four members being lead vocals Wang Xiao'ou, guitarist Li Pei (李培), bassist Yang Lei (杨磊), and drummer Xi Ye (夕野). Due to their admiration for American band Rage Against the Machine, they decided to name themselves Twisted Machine and played music that could be called hardcore.
After 3 years of constant practice, their first album was released by Scream Records, showing off the band’s skills and talents. Many performance opportunities followed after, including a weekend Rock Fest in Shenzhen, and the Chongqing Beer Fest. Needless to say, their performance was top-notch, driving the crowd into a high. During that time, the band took in another lead singer, Liang Liang (梁良). Original lead singer, Wang Xiao Ou left the band after that. Little did they know, the presence of the new lead singer brought their music to a whole new level; Twisted Machine ventured into Nu Metal.
Two years later, Spring of 2003, the time when SARS broke out, the band released their 2nd album amidst all that; it was called “Return to the Underground”. They sold 100,000 copies even before full promotion, making it the hottest rock album in China that year.
In 2004 they added a second guitarist, Li Nan (李楠), and in 2006 they released an EP called Being. Another full album, called XXX, followed in 2010. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
