9GOATS BLACK OUT
9GOATS BLACK OUT was an visual kei band formed in Niigata, Japan on December 24, 2007 and based in Tokyo. The lineup was ryo (vocals), utA (guitar), and hati (bass). They were also supported by drummer takumi. Support musician akaya provided keyboards and programming (considered "manipulate" by the band) until his departure in 2012 due to health issues. Their original support drummer was aki, who was replaced by 篤人 (Atsuto) in 2010.
9GOATS BLACK OUT was totally independent and self-produced throughout their career; they launched their own official website http://9goats.net and independent label dalli simultaneously on December 24, 2007, followed by the release of their debut EP devils in bedside in limited quantity through their website as well. It received positive reviews and was properly released for distribution via ONG DISTRIBUTION on April 30, 2008. They followed that up with their first single, "Sleeping Beauty," released September 9. Their second EP Black rain was the first to be released abroad through CLJ Records in Europe.
The band played, and sold out, their first one-man concert titled "Bright garden" at Shibuya BOXX on April 11, 2009. They then held four additional one-man concerts as a tour in May. A DVD of the Bright garden show was released on May 25, 2011.
9GOATS BLACK OUT released their debut full-length album TANATOS on March 24, 2010. A two-man tour with cocklobin titled "deep sleepers" followed in April, as well as a one-man live performance, "the Orphee," on May 7 at Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO. The band then went on an activity pause for the rest of 2010 - however, they played three shows under the name Baphomet in October, November, and December. They officially resumed activities with a one-man tour, "Melancholy pool," in January 2011. A DVD comprising of this tour was also released on the same day as the Bright garden DVD (May 25).
From April to June 2011 they went on their first coupling tour, with 犬神サーカス団. They played various one-man shows and toured with amber gris on their next coupling tour in November 2011 to January 2012. Their next coupling tour was with Moran and Dolly in February and March of 2012. They also supported 12012 at a show on April 3 with lynch. and amber gris at the LIQUIDROOM.
9GOATS BLACK OUT announced in July 2012 that, after five years, they would disband following their last show on February 9, 2013. Their final shows called "Translucent Hollows" were performed in Nagoya, Osaka, and Tokyo. Their last live "Silence" was performed at Akasaka BLITZ.
