Abassi All Stars

The Abassi All Stars is a collective of musicians based around Neil Perch’s Zion Train recording studio in Cologne. The project is co-ordinated by neil and has been recording for release on his Deep Root and Universal Egg labels. The current participants are neil perch, dave hake (trumpet), bigga (trombone) – these two are also known as the Zion Train brass section, and vocalists Fitta Warri (Jamaica), Junior Kigwa (Rwanda). Dubdadda (UK), Sis Sanae (Japan), Kenny Knots (UK), Empress Rasheda (UK), Earl 16 (Jamaica), and Luciano (Jamaica).
All of the above artists currently had 2004/05 Abassi All Stars record releases on the Deep Root label and were joined in 2006 by some new faces including Tippa Irie (UK), Beenie Man (Jamaica), Daddy Roots (Anguilla), Omar Perry (Jamaica) and Lua (Germany). 2007 will see new faces on the Abassi All stars roster alongside some old favourites.
2006 saw the album debut from the All Stars entitled 'Showcase' and released on Universal Egg Records. 2007 sees the dub companion to this release being issued - 'Dub Showcase'.
Currently recording for Abassi All Stars vocal releases are Jamaican legends Carlton Livingston and Still Cool alongside Sis Carina and Lua, brother Moses, Sis Sanae, the Moa Anbessa crew and the Coyote.
Abassi Hi Power is also the custom built 12 kilowatt Sound System that is run out of Cologne, Germany by Perch of Zion Train. The Sound System specializes in heavyweight dub sessions and features perch at the controls, Dubdadda and Fitta warri on the microphone, King Bee and Ras Imo . Read more on Last.fm.
