Alexander Rishaug
Alexander Rishaug is a sound artist and electronic musician based in Oslo, Norway. His sound is melodic, melancholic and quiet. With minimalistic electronics, abstract beats, glitches and digital noise, he explores tones and textures creating a detailed, rich and subtle sound. Always with a sharp focus on structure, rythm and melodies.
Rishaug used to be a part of the improv trio ARM (1995- 2006) with Arne Borgan and Are Mokkelbost (KILLL, Single Unit) this sparked off collaborations with musicians such as Håkon Kornstad, Pål Asle Pettersen, Martin Horntvedt, Ingar Zach, Tonny Klyften, John Hegre, Jørgen Træen, Ivar Grydeland, Toshimaru Nakamura and Salvatore.
Other live collaborators includes; Marius Watz (NO), Lasse Marhaug (NO), Andreas Meland (NO), Tape (SE), Andreas Berthling (SE), Ost & Kjeks (NO), Erich Berger (AUT), Ole Henrik Moe & Kari Rønnekleiv(NO) and Del (NO).
Released music for: Asphodel (USA), Smalltown Supersound (NO), Melektronikk (NO), Lucky Kitchen (ESP), Jester rec. (NO), Enlightenment (N) and Rune Grammofon (NO).
