Alka Vuica
Alka Vuica is a Croatian singer, composer and lyricist. She was born on June 8th, 1961 in Pula.
In 1979 she moved to Zagreb. She has been a journalist, a playwright, poet and a theatre performer. In 1990 she co-wrote the song "Hajde da ludujemo" sung by Tajci, which one the Yugoslav pre-selection for Eurovision Song Contest 1990 held in Zagreb. The following year, she entered the pre-selection again and wrote the runner-up "Daj, obuci levisice," sung by Danijel Popovic. The song was her first attempt at composing music.
In 1993 she released her first album titled Alka Vu Winnetou. Song "Lazi me" became a huge radio hit in Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Macedonia. This success was soon followed by another song from the same album - "Otkad te nema."
