Alyssa Reid
Alyssa Reid (born March 15, 1993) is a Canadian singer and songwriter born in Edmonton, Alberta. Reid grew up moving around Canada due to her parents' work, which she cites as being a good taster to what a career in music would be like.
Alyssa's début television appearance was on the television show Party Mamas and she was also runner up for The Next Star, a Canadian reality television show on YTV.[1] Whilst her first release "If You Are" failed to make an impact on the charts, her second release changed her life forever.
Alone Again, Alyssa's second single, was released on December 7, 2010. "Alone Again" peaked at #3 in her native country and was the top selling, highest charting, and most spun single by a Canadian artist at Canadian radio in 2011. 'Alone Again' débuted at #1 in the UK, however fell to #2 before the end of week chart. Her début album, "The Game" was released June 21st, 2011 and only charted in Canada at #25.
Reid's second album, "Time Bomb" was released 3 years later in 2014 on September 16th, featuring the singles "Running Guns", "Satisfaction Guaranteed" (which charted at #25 in Canada) and "Hurricane". She stated in an interview with Canadian news site "Mind Your Mind" that Hurricane is her favourite song to perform from the album.
Although Alyssa is yet to reach such heights in worldwide charts as she did with "Alone Again", her music continues to chart in her native Canada, with her latest release "Dangerous", featuring The Heist, reaching #66. She is currently signed to Canadian record label Wax Records[1] whilst living in Brampton, Ontario. Read more on Last.fm.
