Amin Payne
Amin has been producing, composing and DJing for over 10 years. Graduating from the International Sound and Audio Engineering Institute (SAE) with a Diploma in Audio and Sound in 2008 it seems there’s nothing stopping this young musician…. With abilities and an ear for creating music that has a truly international sound; Amin’s soul is locked solid in HipHop, producing and collaborating with some of New Zealand’s best underground talent, not to mention several international acts.
Since 2006 Amin has produced and independently released a solo album What’s The OutCome, “Game Plan” an EP with Yung Shottaz, “The Bootleg Mixtape Vol.2” with Dunedin’s MC Beau & Max Dade, completed the infamous mixtape series “The Dope Show” (I, II, III & IV) and the Universal Sound vol.1 & 2 which has gained mass recognition on the underground circuit in both NZ and now Melbourne, Australia.
In December 2010 he released 20 beats in 20days, where he composed 20 solid tunes in 20 days on his MPC1000. He followed this up in 2011 with PayneOdyssey, then 2012's Cosmic Disfunktions. Between 2011 and 2013 he released three albums paying tribute to Curtis Mayfield, Gil Scott Heron and George Benson. He released an album with his duo APSD in 2015 and then another solo album, Saffron, in 2016.
Payne is a member of APSD with Sean Deans and has collaborated with Ta-ku and K*Saba, among many others. He has supported acts including Shapeshifter and Diafrix, Katchafire, and Opensouls.
Payne is currently based in Melbourne city where he continues to build a bigger network, produce more music and DJ at varies locations and of course purchase new equipment and build a bigger recording studio... watch this space.
