Areknamés
- Michele Epifani, a classical composer and keyboards player, founds with Simone Antonini (drums) and Alessandro Del Conte (bass) a trio named Lentofumo. The musicians meet regularly at the Lentofumo Studios to experiment with vintage sounds (Michele's Hammond organ) and heavy dark atmospheres: they record a few demo tracks where Michele's visions, through Simone's powerful drumming and Alessandro eclectism, become an original mixture of hard rock, doom metal and 70's progressive rock.
- The band is joined by Stefano Colombi on guitar and changes its name into Arco del Pendolo. The original project slowly develops into a sort of power jazz-prog, sometimes reminiscent of the 70's 'Canterbury sound'. The band records a demo cd and starts playing gigs in the area.
- Alessandro Del Conte is replaced on bass by Piero Ranalli, former member of hard-space-rock band Insider, and Lentofumo is soon reformed. Michele starts to write some songs for the renewed power trio, while the Arco del Pendolo project swiftly comes to an end.
- Simone, Michele and Piero record a few demo tracks, live in studio. They change the band's name into Mors in Fabula and then send the demo cd to some music labels. Black Widow Records is interested in producing the band's debut album: it's Areknamés, eventually, and the guys start working on the arrangements for their oncoming album. Just before the beginning of the recording, though, Simone leaves and is replaced on drums by Mino Vitelli, ex Perizona. Mino, Michele and Piero start recording the debut album in 2002. It will be published by Black Widow Records in 2003 on cd and vinyl with the name of Areknamés, which is also the album's title. Areknamés is a dark rock concept album that, despite its complexity, strikes many music critics for its undoubtable qualities and attracts a growing number of fans.
- Areknamés are on tour around Europe, but Mino has left just after the recording and Simone has regained his place in the band. Also Stefano, after being a guest on the debut album, has eventually joined the band on guitars. After the tour, the renewed quartet starts working on the second album, "Love Hate Round Trip".
- The second album, "Love Hate Round Trip", is released by Black Widow Records on 15th June. The band is reharsing for the oncoming tour. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
