Basis
German hip-hop band Basis was active during the late 1990s. Its members were Vera Holthaus, Kami Manns, Edson Sifre Garcia and Ronny Gerulat. They broke through in Germany and Switzerland in October 1997, with the song Wenn ich nur noch einen Tag zu leben hätte, soon followed by a couple of other hit singles and a successful first album, Hier Kommt die Basis.
Kami Manns left the group in 1998 to focus on a solo-career, first releasing a single with Purple Schultz which charted higher than any of the Basis songs, and then a much less successful solo single. After this, she resumed her acting studies.
Vera Holthaus, Basis' de-facto frontwoman and main lyricist attempted a solo-career as Missyna in 2002. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
