Bathtub Shitter
Bathtub Shitter was formed in 1996 on the Osakan underground Hardcore/Punk scene which produced SxOxB and BOREDOMS
The band formed and Keisuke re-designed his own band, (so named EPIDEMIC CAUSE) to do new music, and advertised for a new member.
In the slate 1996, Masato joined the band changing the name to Bathtub Shitter[BS for short]. The original members including Tuyoshi and Ikeda started rehearsal in studio at once and recorded to make their 1st demo for promotion, [20 copies were made].
In 1997, Masato and Keisuke decided to change guitarist and bassist for ideal music style, and invited Horino and Mike to record for 2rd demo tape "DEMO 97", this tape sold out 1000 copies in Japan. Also, selling out more than 4000 copies in foreign underground scene by self release.
After, the band from Japanese signed to MCR COMPANY. Despite this, Mike left the band.
In 1998, Mari joined as guest guitarist, which lead to a recording and release of a split 7inch EP with DUDMAN.
In 1999, Osho joined, as a guitarist, who was known as a supporter of Bathtub Shitter in their early days. they joined the gateway to success for Osakan young band gig, Hard Core Marathon, under the auspices of TAGRAG, which resulted in same title live documentary CD "Hard Core Marathon vol. 2". Bathtub Shitter had some offers from labels which heard great reviews about the band. Eventually, signing to German label T.V.G. record for the 7"EP release "Fertilizer" and then after they signed with U.S. label, RHETORIC records but did not release another anticipated album becuase of the label's bankruptcy.
2001 saw the band being appraoched by a compliation idea which was recorded by Zorlac Sound Works/Flexy Nation Music Entertainment, Swedish label, PUTRID FILTH CONSPIRACY and in the same year, contributed some songs to two compilation CDs, "Murderous Grind Attack" on 625 thrash Core of US independent HC label.
That same year BS's live tours became inactive for awhile in order for Sugiyama to go to Germany to learn music. Then Masato, Morikawa and Osho had personnal difficulties this soon lead to Masato kicking out Morikawa and Osho from the group. This lead Masato to find more members for this project. Masato, later, invited Sato [ex-[artist]HOPE as a BS member and Toru [ex-[artist]RAGING FURY] as a support guitar instead of Morikawa and Osho. This new line-up waited for Keisuke to be back from Germany.
In 2002, Keisuke came back from Germany, and BS started live shows again. However, After a few gigs Sato left BS for family reasons. So BS recruited Kuroki who was BS's staff instead of Sato.
The band is recording a new untitled album for set release on 2009 and will be touring in the summer of 2008 to promote their lastest EP. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
