Brass
There is more than one artist using the moniker Brass.
(1) A recently deceased Brooklyn-based post-hardcore/emo band. Featuring members of On The Might Of Princes, Potboiler, and Latterman.
(2)BRASS:
born april 3 1979. brass is a combination of pen and paper. a marking for the uncanny, with a reputable smile. making room for tomorrow and narrowly escaping many a plane crash. spending the past decade redefining his styles, brass has manipulated his flow in many forms, appearing alongside sydney veteran SERECK of DEF WISH CAST and fellow mate SINUS of band 1,2 SEPPUKU, in the highly flammable hardcore act CELSIUS. to tackling the live elements of UPSHOT alongside progressive lyricist QURO. 2002 saw the first solo release from brass in a double 7" format, based mostly arround influence and poetry, here emerged the softer spoken and reflective brass looking more into his writing side and following it up with creative expression displayed in the cover art. 2006, three albums down, brass is coming back with a whole new angle, something fresh and revealing, though never more heart felt. the first glimpse of the new sound can be heard on the new AIRHEADS 2 compilation Available through parallax records. this song produced by SANDRO shows much of where brass has taken his style since the 2004 releases both with CELSIUS on KICKIN IT TO HELL N' BACK [crookneck records] and UPSHOTS debut MAKE IT HAPPEN [creative vibes] brass has recently recorded a song with KOOL KEITH which features SINUS and hs set off around the globe, pushing to close the next chapter with a new solo album, produced mainly by SERECK, SANDRO and JP. in an attempt to be himself brass has motivated stages and moved crowds alongside artists such as THE PHARCYDE, ACEYALONE and ABSTRACT RUDE, SUPERNATURAL, SOULS OF MISCHIEF, KOOL KEITH and so on.. brass redefined is what dreams may come...
SECOND ARTIST WITH SAME NAME:
After releasing a few EPs under the name North Star Infinite, the newly-named Brass is ready to re-emerge and re-invent themselves as a band. After a few changes in their line up (mainly their drummers), they finally established their sound in the freshly-released Set & Drift. Set & Drift is an 8-song EP filled with heavy, exploding guitars and angsty vocals. Songs like "The Optimist" and "Seperate Boadies" are fast-paced, melodramatic rock songs that can break this band into the mainstream. The epic and dreamy ballad "Exhales" broadens their large sound and rounds up the versitility of their EP. If Brass plays their cards right, they have a formula that can march them right up the Modern Rock charts. Read more on Last.fm.
