Brett Terry
Clearly schooled in the tradition of CSN, Neil Young, The Beatles, and James Taylor-Brett Terry, a singer/songwriter from Connecticut, seems to have perfected the art of the catchy short acoustic pop song while remaining true to the spirit and vibe of the 60's and 70's, Intricate background harmonies and philosophical subject matter are cornerstones of Brett's songs and songwriting. I've never felt so safe in my life.
Brett was born in New York City in 1968 and raised in Connecticut, spending a childhood with musical parents who would sing Renaissance choral music in costume. Trained in choral composition in college (at Wesleyan University), Brett also began to study electronic and computer music while in graduate school at the University of Illinois. Always active in acoustic-based cover bands, Brett has been writing songs ever since high school and is currently embarked on a project to record a 4 CD set of his songs.
The first CD, Retrospective Lives was released in the Summer of 2007 and features Brett on all instruments and vocals, concentrating on reworking of older songs. The second CD, Instant History, was completed in the Summer of 2008 and is scheduled for release in Fall 2008. It was recorded at Dirt Floor Studios and features Eric Lichter on bass, drums, organ, and electric guitar.
