Carlos Saura
There are two persons known as Carlos Saura
1. Carlos Saura began to play guitar at the age of 10. He later joined the Superior Conservatory of Music of Málaga and studied modern harmony and jazz with private professors. Carlos went on to form various rock and blues bands and achieved notable recognition in the region.
In 1996 he received the title of professional guitarist from the Musician’s Institute (G.I.T) of Hollywood (Los Angeles), receiving classes from noted guitarists like Scott Henderson, Frank Gambale, Joe Diorio, Keith Wyatt, and Steve Trovato.
Afterwards, Carlos relocated to Barcelona, where he played with diverse bands, touring Spain and participating in blue festivals. Currently Carlos is at work on his own musical project while giving classes and seminars and playing in various groups.
2. Carlos Saura Atarés (born 4 January 1932, Huesca) is a Spanish film director and photographer. Many of his films have music at it's centre.
Saura has become known for making movies centered around traditional Latin dance. His Flamenco Trilogy of the 1980s includes Bodas de Sangre (Blood Wedding), Carmen, and El amor brujo. He later made the movies Flamenco (1995), Tango (1998), and Fados (2007). Read more on Last.fm.
