Chimera State
Christian Rentschler began his music career in 1995 at the age of 14, when he founded his first performance group "Spirit of Dance“. The group consisted of five members. Christian wrote, choreographed, and performed the group's entire repertoire. He sang the lead vocals with another female member, while the other three complimented the dance and vocal numbers. Christian was also behind the business aspect of the group. He produced, recorded and marketed all of the groups material.
In 1996, Christian was elected by the readers of Germanys No. 1 music magazine Bravo. Out of 60,000 applicants, Christian was among those chosen to perform in the televised finale of Bravo Talents '96. The event was followed by numerous performances as a solo act “Christian” and as part of his “Spirit of Dance” in German Television, Radio Stations, and Live Venues. "Spirit of Dance" was a prominent live-act in South Germany during the latter half of the nineties.
After retiring his "Spirit of Dance" in the beginning of the new millennium, Christian started to focus more on his songwriting and compositions. Christian created music for all aspects of the media industry, from advertising to movie theatre spots. Christian also founded CMC-Project in 2001, together with DJ Cosmo and Mikuma. Their first release, “I Can’t Believe” was a club sensation and was distributed worldwide. "I Can't Believe" continuous to remain in circulation and is available in various compilations.
Christian's passion and accomplishments in music and media production launched his acceptance by Europe's leading Media University, Hochschule der Medien in Stuttgart to study Engineering for Audiovisual Media in 2002. Christian's R&B, Jazz, and Electronica influences along with his accumulated experience and studies in the reproduction of sound is evident in his various projects.
Christian continuous to work as a composer and sound designer for various international projects and artists around the globe. Christian's 2007 collaboration with DJ Shah resulted in the track "Malaysia", available on Tiesto's label Black Hole Recordings. "Malaysia" is currently on heavy rotation from DJs all over the world.
Among his most personal works is the album "Till The End Of Time", a 2007 collaboration with Romina Lombardo (alias Romy Lombardo), a finalist from the German television show Popstars. Christian brought forth his prominence in songwriting and music, reflecting both his diverse talent and his years of experience both in music and his personal life. "Till The End Of Time" is now available on iTunes and Musicload under the project name “8am1 feat. Romy Lombardo”.
Achtung Baby (Is it Cause I'm Sexy), released in October of 2007 under the moniker of "Royal Affair" showcases Christian's risqué and fun side. Christian's latest release Serenity, under the name of "Chimera State", is an exercise in spirituality, integrating Christian's fascination with asceticism and music.
