Chris Christodoulou
Chris Christodoulou is a composer based in Amsterdam, writing music for film, games and other media, as well as concert-hall compositions. He is originally from Sparta, Greece, where he took his first piano and drum lessons. After graduating from high school, he moved to Athens to continue his music studies. During that time, he performed as a keyboardist and drummer with several bands spanning many musical genres. After completing his studies in Harmony, Counterpoint and Fugue, he continued into Orchestration and Composition studies under composer (and mentor) Joseph Papadatos.
In 2009 he was accepted in the "Composing for Film" master's programme at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, supervised by Jurre Haanstra. During the two-year course, he collaborated with students of the NFTA for the production of six short films. Two of his three graduation films were awarded "Best Fiction" (Geen Weg Terug) and "Best Documentary" (Als ik jou niet had) for the class of 2011. He was the only one in his class to graduate graded "excellent" in composition.
After graduating in 2011, former classmates Robin Assen, Chris Christodoulou and Mihkel Zilmer formed The Dam Studios, a composers' collaboration project focused on creating music for image.
