Cliff Dawson
Originally from Jamaica... Cliff was signed to the late Neil Bogart's Boardwalk Records imprint along with stars like Joan Jett and Richard Dimples Fields. He was managed by Lionel Job (Starpoint, Keith Sweat, Joe Public)at the time. He also wrote hits for artists such as Anne Murray, 5-Star, Starpoint, Pieces of a Dream, etc. It has been rumored that 2008 shall be the year he does a follow-up to the successful "Never Say I Do if you don't mean it..." I can confirm that rumor because I wrote the #7 hit "Never Say I Do...if you don;'t mean it" (M.Ennis) Perhaps the best popular artists to compare Cliff's style to would be James Ingram, Michael Bolton, and Michael McDonald... One of his biggest fans was the late super-producer Keith Diamond who wrote hits like "Carribean Queen" and "Suddenly" for Billy Ocean...and co-wrote the pop hit "Object of My Desire" by Starpoint...Stay tuned!
