DIY
1) Underground DJ collective from Nottingham.
2) Alias of UK garage producer Karl "Tuff Enuff" Brown.
1) The DiY Sound System was one of Britain's first house sound systems, alongside Tonka. It was created in Nottingham in 1989. In 1993, they also began their own record label, Strictly 4 Groovers, which later became known as DiY discs. This is still running and releasing house music and the primary DJs - Simon DK, Digs and Woosh - still play at various nights in the U.K., Europe and America. They recently celebrated their 20th birthday with a free party.
2) With the resurgence of four-to-the-floor garage and bassline house in the early 2000s, garage legend Karl "Tuff Enuff" Brown (of Tuff Jam fame) began his own label, 2Tuf 4U Records. He also began releasing a steady stream of material under the alias DIY, as well as his collaborations with Todd Edwards, El-B and others. Read more on Last.fm.
