Dark Illumination
Dark Illumination, founded in 1991, is the latest in an astounding new wave of German electronic acts, loosely grouped in a category often referred to as "intelligent body music" - a mixture of percolating rhythms, uplifting dance beats, and industrially dark noises; comparable to the works of Forma Tadre, Haujobb, and Clock DVA. Additionally, Dark Illumination's lyrics convey a strong sense of social conscience. Even the band's debut CD encourages society to Realize the Error, acknowledging the mistakes we have made, and the effects those mistakes have on others (for example, the unemployment caused by the unanticipated growth of modern technology).
The main force behind Dark Illumination is vocalist Daniel Gamradt, whose programming prowess is mightily augmented by the keyboard and electronic wizardry of Thomas Kruger. The band was discovered by Zoth Ommog together with the help of the industrial music mag, Surface Magazine.
Realize the Error was the duo's startling debut, becoming a huge success in all of the electronic and industrial clubs in Europe. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
