David Blanco
Singer, pianist, trumpeter, composer, keyboard-programmer, arranger and musical producer. He was born in Havana, Cuba, February 10, 1980.
He got his Master Degree as professor-instrumentalist of trumpet and group training at the Amadeo Roldán Provincial Conservatoire, in 1998. He also studied at National School of Music.
Starting at art as member of the Symphonic Orchestra of Children, he joined afterwards diverse musical groups in Havana. His first piano concert was in the Napoleonic Museum of Havana City. He also was part of A-19 rock group, recording Saliendo a flote CD, under EGREM Cuban label, integrating also the National Juvenile Symphonic Orchestra in Havana.
David worked in the author-singer Gerardo Alfonso's band as pianist, arranger and keyboard player. Among other remarkable performances, he shared scenes with the Mexican bands ''Café Cuba'' and "'Botellita de Jerez'', in concerts made in Havana (1997), participating also in the recording together with the rock band Cosa Nostra, in the recording of ''Invisible bridges'' CD (EGREM, 1999), in which he made different solos as keyboard player and trumpeter.
He participated in the rock band ''Kamarra Gamma'' in the recording of ''Pretentions'' CD (EGREM, 2000), as arranger and keyboard player, pianist, trumpetist and chorus singer. Being 18 years old, he founded a jazz group to participate at the remarkable ''Jazz Plaza'' Festival and in the famous jazz club ''La zorra y el cuervo'', sharing scene with outstanding Cuban and international jazz musicians, citing Chucho Valdés, Bobby Carcacés among others.
Since 1999, he made a parallel labor as producer and arranger of pop and salsa music for important musicians' recordings, such as Luis Manuel, Ernesto Bello, Yamilka, Kiki Corona, Darío and others; working at the major Cuban recording studios, highlighting Pablo Milanés' , EGREM's , etc. He joined, on 1998, Moncada Group until March, 2001, when he decided to work individually.
He has composed music for teleplays and TV novels, in addition to the music compositions for different commercial spots. In 1999, his song ''Ahora que no estás", won in Cubael, the Second Prize at OTI Festival of Song. Working also in TV as musician and model.
Besides touring around different countries, such as Canada, Guatemala, Mexico, Chile and Venezuela, he has worked in Cuba at night clubs and in the major musical programs from the national TV, where he made is bow as soloist singer with his own band, on September 17, 2000.
