Davina is a female artist from Fremont Ca. (East Bay Area) with a musical background and influence from her family making her destined to be involved with music one way or another. Davina began recording choruses for the local rap artists in her region creating a buzz for herself and in time she was presented with an opportunity by Big Tone of Sav It Out Records, presenting Davina's first solo album titled "The Last Laugh Is Mine" released in 2003. At the time Davina was the first female in Northern California to have an album in the R&B/Rap genre for a Latina/Chicana or a "mess" as Davina would say in her own words, considering she's a mix of Filipino and Spanish from her Mother and her Dad topped her off with Mexican, Apache Indian, German and Irish. Within a small amount of time the album caught the ears of many female audiences not to mention a solid male audience as well. Davina was proclaimed by her fans as the "Queen of Northern Cali" for her talent and subject matter touching on subjects that most women wouldn't. She is described as humble and real.
By Davina's second album, which was also released by Sav It Out Records, titled "On Some Real", Davina had a large following that was growing by the day, drawing in large and dedicated crowds at concerts and carshows. Davina has also featured on numerous projects and counting. With now 3 albums released Davina has accomplished so much by working hard, giving back to the community and she continues to do so on her own. As an unsigned artist, happily and strictly independent, she was finally able to release of her own solo project, her self titled album "Davina" which has shown many different sides of her writing abilities and musical talents and ear. (Can be downloaded on iTunes under "Davina")
She remains true to her fans and always takes them into consideration when writing each song and creating her music. She's always seen signing autographs, taking pictures, and interacting with her fans at events. Described as a down to earth individual who keeps it real as well as being a mother of two children, above all, while balancing her family life and music career, she manages to continue her familys talented genetics in music. Davina's albums continue to be successful and she plans to continue writing and producing music, while remaining close to her roots, family, home and where she came from. She is now a factor in the game- hate it or love it, but you have to respect it. Don't expect her to go anywhere anytime soon as she's just getting started with a bright career ahead of her and more oppurtinities on the way.
