DJ philE is the executive producer and creator of the Deep House Cat Show, a free dance music podcast. philE plays numerous genres ranging from Deep, Soulful, Funky House to Elektro, Minimal, Tech and Progressive House, while focusing on new digital releases and promos.
He has been DJing since 1986 and was inspired to start mixing when he came across his first vinyl from D.J. International and Trax Records. philE describes one of his most memorable DJ moments spinning at Tyree Cooper’s after-hour party at the OZ club in Stuttgart, Germany back in 1989. During the 90s he has worked in numerous clubs in Europe and the U.S. Since 1999 he primarily focuses on studio work with a few live gigs per year at selected clubs and events.
His favorite producers are Tommy Krasker, Manfred Eicher, Black Rose Corporation, Albhy Galuten, Steve "Silk" Hurley, Rocky Jones.
The list of favorite labels includes Sonar Kollektiv, Winding Road, Buzzin Fly, Strictly Rhythm, King Street, D.J. International, Trax Records, Bear Music Factory, Republic Records, FFRR Records.
His personal top tunes of all time are Debussy "La Mar" and "Printemps", Jovanotti "Il Resto Va Da Se", Nils Petter Molvær "Khmer".
