Deep Voices
In 2004 long time friends and studio partners, Steve Baltes of Germany and Jason Dyloot of San Francisco joined forces to create DEEP VOICES. Their passion and dedication in the studio has rapidly scaled the list of exceptionally talented producers and djs and have played alongside many of the world most talented artists such as Armin Van Buuran, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten and many others. Their smooth blend of progressive and melodic trance is sure to capture your soul and boldly take you on journey where you have not gone before.
This powerful duo is best described as the yin and yang of trance. Their fusion of musical styles create a complex yet magical presence both in the studio and on stage. Behind the decks, Jason and Steve's passion for music and their audience is unmistakable. Whether its a small club or a large festival, they are capable of harnessing the energy of all, uniting them as one.
Impressed by the work of Kraftwerk and Visage Steve bought his first Synthesizer in 1984. In the following years, he saved all money he could get to buy used analog synth´s, sequencers and beatboxes to build his home studio. Steve taught himself music electronics and harmony while playing keyboard in various local groups in Germany. His Inspiration from hard trance in the beginning of the 90's let to early solo productions. Steve landed various releases on Le Petit Prince and other labels like Urban and EMI. His First solo album in 1995 'Pictures in Rhythm' was voted the number one techno album in the german tendance magazine. The 1995 release of “Piano in Trance” was used as a tv trailer by the german premiere television. Steve released the single CD Exxcelsior “Waiting” in 1996 with Wofgang Flür (Kraftwerk) on EMI. In 1997 & 2008, Steve toured with Ashra in Japan. Steve has certainly been busy in the studio over the years and is the definition of a true studio geek. In 2009, Steve became a new dad with the birth of his first son. There's no doubt that this will give him even more inspiration in the studio quite possibly, he'll have a new student with as much musical talent as his father.
In 1995, Jason Dyloot began dj'ing in the San Francisco underground dance scene. As the scene quickly grew, so did Dyloot's dj career. In 1997 he stepped into the realm of event promotion and started SKILLS Productions. A few years later in 1999, Jason teamed up with his friend and dj, Tom Slik to open their record store Skills Dj Workshop in Berkeley, California. The shop was one of the last remaining record stores in the Bay Area dedicated to electronic music and was a staple of the local underground dance scene. They remained in business for 10 years, closing recently to focus solely on his events and music production. Jason's event production company SKILLS is one of the largest electronic music event promoters in the United States. Their events continue to feature incredible and innovative productions hosting the top electronic acts from all over the world. Jason's artistic vision, passion and love for electronic music are showcased not only at his events; it can be heard in his music production as well.
