Desi Slava
Desislava Ivanova Doneva (Bulgarian: Десислава Иванова Донева; born 7 March 1979), better known as Desi Slava (Деси Слава) is a Bulgarian singer of pop-folk and pop music. Desi Slava is considered to be one of the greatest voices of contemporary Bulgarian music, being able to perform in different styles, from jazz to rock and pop-folk.
Slava started out singing Bulgarian folk songs in secondary school, and received her first award from a music competition in high school. Her high-pitched, "angelic" voice has received the critical acclaim of music critics and fans. In 1998, Desi Slava released her first solo album at the age of 19.
Slava used to be part of the biggest pop-folk label in Bulgaria – Payner music. At the end of 2003 she left the label with her producer Iovko Petrove with whom she started new label New Music Stars. Till now she continues to make her music and she even recorded a song under the label of Universal Music Spain called, "Never end". The next step in her carreer is to make an album undera big international music company label. She is one of the most gifted Bulgarian singers, who are getting more famous with every new song that she sings.
Slava had a son in 2000, who is called Mayki (Майки) (pronounced 'Mikey'). In 2007, Slava took part in Bulgaria's Big Brother VIP 2007, becoming the runner-up in the competition.
