Dorothy Little Happy
Dorothy Little Happy (often shortened to DLH) is a Japanese pop idol project under the label Universal GEAR. As of July 2017, it is the solo project of Takahashi Mari, the only remaining member.
Dorothy Little Happy was formed in 2010 from graduated members of the unit B♭ from Step One Sendai Junior Talent Ageny. Producer Sakamoto Satoru got the inspiration for the group's name from the lead character in the novel "The Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum.
Dorothy Little Happy released their first single, "Jump!", in 2010 under an indies label. However, two months later, Suzuki Michiyo decided to graduate from the group in order to focus more on her studies. That didn't stop the group as they signed with the label avex trax in early 2011 and released their first major release, the mini-album Demo Sayonara. They released their first major single, "HAPPY DAYS!", on January 2012.
In 2015, Akimoto Ruuna, Tominaga Mimori, and Hayasaka Koumi graduated from the group. Shirato Kana and Takahashi Mari continued on as a duo, releasing the single "Restart" now under the Universal GEAR label.
On May 31st, 2017, the single "FOR YOU / Demo Sayonara (2017 ver.)" was released. Takahashi Mari was the only member featured on the single as Shirato Kana was on hiatus in order to receive medical treatment. In July 2017, Kana graduated, leaving Mari as the sole member and DLH became her solo project.
In July 2018, Mari announced that she'd be graduating from Dorothy Little Happy in December 2018. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
