El Boy Die
A native of France, El Boy Die has embarked on an ambitious career that’s taken him throughout Europe and North America. Through his vagabond attitude and DIY approach, he’s been able to shape a distinctive and cinematic sound palette that draws from medieval ambience, tribal chanting and ethereal instrumentation that deviates from the modern framework of folk.
In 2002 DI-DIE Live was released on the California label Shrimper. It featured the songs of El Boy Die and David Ivar Herman Düne. Since then, El Boy Die has recorded his own full length album "Black Hawk Ladies & Tambourins" featuring members from Cyann & Ben, Herman Düne, Zombie Zombie and Valleys - due out in the Spring of 2010 on Semprini Records.
El Boy Die has shared the stage with Devendra Banhart, Lightspeed Champian, Herman Düne, Valleys, Cyann & Ben, Calvin Johnston, Kimya Dawson, Julie Doiron, Zombie Zombie, Truman's Water, Brave Radar, Turner Cody and he's also participated in two editions of the now famous Parisian Folk Festival "Mo'Fo".
