Elon
It seems that from his very beginnings, NYC's Elon was destined to make beats. Born on 4/4 in Israel, Elon moved to the US from his native Tel Aviv six years ago with an eye towards the city's underground dance music scene, and since then, he has enjoyed success as a DJ and grown tremendously as a producer. Originally trained as a sound engineer and musician, Elon plays at and promotes for several of the top clubs and parties, having held residencies at Sullivan Room, Sol, Table 50 & Le Souk, and playing select events at top spots like Crobar, Spirit, Pacha, Love and Centro Fly to name a few. Elon has brought edgy, underground talent including Martinez, Swag, Jeff Bennet, Claude VonStroke, The Hacker, Konrad Black, Jay Tripwire & Franklin De Costa to NYC, both on his own and collaborating with other artists and promoters in the community. His DJ sound has evolved into a pumping mixture of minimal techno & tech house; playing a mix of chunky and dirty sounds, Elon connects with dancers and admirers of all things cutting edge.
Also busy in the studio, Elon's proficiency draws upon from his extensive prior experience as a bass and guitar player, and more recently, from endless hours spent pouring over the mixing console banging out tracks. A perfectionist in the studio who exudes pride & passion over each detail of his tracks, Elon's work is a natural combination of his interests as a DJ and his background as a musician. He's been perfecting a new and original sound, that tiptoes on the borders between micro-house, minimal, techno and electro, and these efforts have paid off ' he has signed a 2 track EP ('Movin' In' b/w 'Hash Maker'') to Jesse Rose's hot Made to Play imprint, which will see a full international vinyl release in 2007. If this wasn't enough validation for a first vinyl release, Jesse chose 'Movin' In' for inclusion on his forthcoming Body Language mix compilation to be released through Berlin's Get Physical Music. One of his first productions, 'Reflections,' remixed by good friend Taimur Agha, was selected by Brian Ffar & Daniel Mnookin for their Proton Radio compilation CD Bucktown Business, and has been subsequently licensed for a digital release through Kriece's Arabica label. Another remix Elon did for Arabica, of Segeke's 'Deeper Side,' has been doing well on beatport since it was released in early August. Additionally, his track 'Mitalect' will be released digitally through NY's Relay Recordings. Elon's innovative tracks seem destined for dance-floor glory across the globe in 2007 and beyond.
