Emin
With each new success, EMIN's popularity continues to grow. Six English language albums under his belt, two recent record deals (Warner music and Sony ATV Music Publishing) and music videos with millions of youtube views, EMIN begins the new year with the release of his debut Russian language CD, NA KRAYU, along with his much anticipated album, AMOR.
In November 2013, EMIN performed to nearly a billion TV viewers, in a 160 countries, at the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow. Surrounded by some of the world’s most beautiful women, he wowed the audience with his newest single “In Another Life” and his current hit “Amor.” The music video for “Amor” was shot in Los Angeles and co-stars Miss Universe 2012, Olivia Culpo. To date, it has received over 5 million views on YouTube!
Kicking off a month of pre-paegent events, EMIN gave a special guest performance on the country's most popular talk shows and shot the music video for “In Another Life” with a special guest Donald Trump.
Additionally, EMIN has been nominated for three 2013 World Music Awards: Best Male Artist, Best Live Act and World's Best Entertainer; and recently performed on NBC's Today Show from the Winter Olympics shortly followed by FOX, Fuse TV and Telemundo.
From the smooth vocals of his first four CD’s, to the pop dance tracks of his latest effort, EMIN never fails to wow crowds and media alike. His career has seen him perform to world class audiences, including the 2012 FIFA Women’s Soccer World Cup and the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest – Europe’s best known and largest singing competition – with a TV audience of over 200 million.
EMIN, who was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, moved to Moscow with his family when he was three. As a teenager, he studied in Europe and says it was the first experience that “opened my mind to the world.” A few years later he completed his education on the East Coast of the U.S. where his lifelong interest in music began to move to the forefront.
EMIN’s first studio album, Still, was released in 2006, selling in the first six months 70,000 copies in Russia, and an additional 30,000 in CIS countries. Following the success of his debut CD, EMIN released an album a year for the next three years: Incredible (2007), Obsession (2008) and Devotion (2009). Each was supported by live performances in Moscow and Baku.
In 2010, EMIN relocated to London to work with Brian Rawling, an internationally acclaimed producer, and his team of artists at Metrophonic Studios. Working closely with Rawling, EMIN continued to develop his own vocal style along with honing his skills as composer and songwriter. The result of the EMIN/Rawling partnership was two international albums: Wonder (2011) and After The Thunder (2012). Wonder was Album of the Week on BBC Radio 2, the largest radio station in Europe. After the Thunder went on to produce two singles – “Obvious” and “Any Time You Fall” – which both became Singles of the Week.
In September 2012 EMIN opened for Jennifer Lopez at her sell-out concert in Baku’s Crystal Hall. The event was attended by 25,000 fans. “I was thrilled to share the stage with one of the most talented and successful performers in the world,” says EMIN.
EMIN has appeared on BBC Breakfast Time, CBS New York, EXTRA, Fox Good Day, Today Show, E!, Fuse TV, ITV’s Daybreak to name a few; and has been profiled in Esquire, The London Sunday Times, Wall Street Journal, BBC.co.uk, The Sun, The Independent, among dozens of others.
