Ezginin Günlüğü
Ezginin Günlüğü (means "The Diary of the Melody" in Turkish) is a Turkish band formed in 1982 in Istanbul by Nadir Göktürk, Hakan Yılmaz, Şebnem Başar, Tugay Başar, Vedat Verter, and Emin İgüs. Their first album, Seni Düşünmek, was released in 1985.
All the members except Nadir Göktürk had left the group by 1990. Hüsnü Arkan and Fatih Saçlı have joined the band and the first album involving them, İstavrit, was released in 1993. The popularity of the band increased dramatically after the album Oyun was released in 1995.
Ezginin Günlüğü is noted for their musical diversity and vocal harmonies, as well as for their lyrics. In the 1980s they were using well-known poems and singing songs with political allusions. In the 1990s they were still using poems, but they also started to write their own lyrics.
In 2010, Hüsnü Arkan, the lead vocal and song writer of the band left the band to pursue his solo career. He has released four solo albums since 1991 (Bir Yalnızlık Ezgisi (1991), Solo (2011), Yalnız Değiliz (2013) and Kırık Hava (2015)). Arkan also released another album with the band Destur in 2004 (Deli Bu Dünya). Hüsnü Arkan continues his solo music career as well as his writing career as an accomplished novelist.
Ezginin Günlüğü performed with vocalist and guitarist Murat Kurt until Çağrı Çetinsel joined the band in 2014.
In 2017, vocalist Eylem Atmaca left the band and Deniz Sujana joined the band in her place.
