Fabio Stein
Fabio Stein was born in Spoleto, Italy, but moved to São Paulo, Brazil, at the age of 5. He started playing around with musical production in 1997, until one well known brazilian DJ called Ricardo Guedes played some of his tracks on a brazilian radio station (Energia 97 FM), and at the old U-Turn club in São Paulo.
Moving back to Italy in 2000, his homeland, he got his first pair of decks and started djing. He was then discovered by Master Enjoy (one known italian MC), joined his Soundz staff and got on his first gigs.
When he got back from Italy, in 2002, he met with DJ Jack and joined his staff Energy BR (www.energybr.net), the one and only trance organization in Brazil, and the biggest in Latin America. Since then, Fabio played at many parties in Brazil, in different cities spreading thru the whole country, like Rio de Janeiro, Xangri-lá Beach, Belém, Guaratuba, Maresias, Lavras, Campo Novo do Parecis and, of course, his home-based city: São Paulo. Fabio recently made his UK debut at the Vaccine night, held at The Gallery @ Turnmills, in London (UK). Despite of all those different places, he was able to adapt himself to the crowd, without compromising his style. Among the big names with whom Fabio shared the decks, we can find Marco V, Dogzilla, Matthew Dekay, Flash Brothers, Ali Wilson, Martin Roth, Kuffdam & Plant, Giuseppe Ottaviani and Andrea Ribeca (Nu NRG), E-Craig, Massimo Cominotto e Tony H.
In the digital world, he’s a regular guest at many webradios, including DI.fm (www.di.fm), one of the biggest in the world, doing mixes for its trance channel.
His name is developing together with the Brazilian fresh trance scene, becoming one of the country’s most influent trance DJs. He’s a regular at one of the very few trance club-nights of the country called State Of Trance (hosted by the Energy BR staff).
In 2006, Fabio entered the limelight of the trance new generation’s artists, as his tracks have received massive recognition thru the world’s dancefloors; supported by the likes of Paul van Dyk, Judge Jules, Johan Gielen, Ferry Corsten, Eddie Halliwell, Yoji Biomehanika, Scott Mac, Marcel Woods, Dave 202, Mark Sherry, John Askew, Gareth Emery, DJ Choose, G&M Project, Corderoy, Adam White and many others.
His track Tran-4 is one of his biggest works, considered “one of the strongest trance tracks of the year (2006)” by Judge Jules. Tran-4 and State Of Trance are already available on Maelstrom records (www.maelstromrecords.com). He also works/have worked with other major and indie dance labels like Silicon, Five AM, Oxygen, Discover, Diverted and Wavedata.
Fabio is also a very on demand remixer, having worked with Judge Jules, Johan Gielen and Dave 202. His remixes for Sander van Doorn’s Punk’d (“Pimp My Track” competition winner), Marcel Woods’ Advanced (tracklisted at Trance Energy 2006), Drop It (Your Love) by Danny Oliveira and and Mainx’s 88 To Piano also received strong support, specially from the great Paul van Dyk.
2007 will see him showing the world that he’s not “just a producer”, as he’s working on several dates with his manager Tom Godwin (www.godwinmanagement.co.uk), which will result in his first European Summer Tour.
Finally, he is a music lover in constant search of fresh electronic dance music. Although he’s a trance DJ/producer, his live mixes are ecletic, dynamic and full of surprises. If you want to experience his sound, look after some of his mixes (available at http://www.rraurl.com/djs/profile.php?dj=fabiostein).
