Fans Of Jimmy Century
Originally from Oakland / San Francisco CA, Las Vegas-based Fans of Jimmy Century is an original Modwave, Indiewave, Neo Noir duo with trip hop influences. Newest single, the aggressive Best of My Generation (Johnny Rotten) comes out April 27, 2018. You can Presave on Spotify and Preorder now on iTunes to help the song along.
FOJC is inspired by both genre bending and creating alter egos to match their songs' vibes and videos, having released an eclectic range of singles in 2018 & 2017 - the downtempo trip hoppy #Noirstar (Memories of His City) on 3/3/18, the villainous, wicked winter and Tim Burton-esque “All My Friends Are Ice Queens” on 12/12/17 and the electro anthem Ghosts of Paradise in Oct 1017.
FOJC remained independent until 2014 when they signed to a 2-single deal with Bungalo/Universal Music Group. Their debut song for the label “Va Va Voom to the Moon,” received consistent airplay on Vegas’ commercial station Mix 94.1. They left the deal and continued to self-release in 2015. Soon after their song, “Delicate Fever,” was featured in the WB movie “Get Hard" with Kevin Hart & Will Ferrell. FOJC also produces a residency show called Fatale Originale. Sync placements include Gossip Girl, Forever 21, Finding Nemo 3D, E News Live, Hall Pass, Bad Teacher, Ray Donovan, Law and Order: SVU, Betsey Johnson XO, Melrose Place, Housewives of NYC and more.
FOJC was offered a monthly residency at Las Vegas’ Copa Room. They created a full production show called “Fatale Originale,” integrating special guests into their band on rotating mini fest stages and luring the audience onto an exciting, artistic, interactive playground. In November they took a break from the residency to tour Hong Kong invited by the charity Daughters of Cambodia. Upon their return to Las Vegas, they won the House Music DJ award for Best Local Band given by local scene DJs.
Past TV, Film, Advertising placements for the band include “Bad Teacher (Columbia),” “Hall Pass (Warner Bros),” “Finding Nemo 3D (Disney/Pixar),” “Law and Order: SVU,” “Gossip Girl,” “Ray Donovan,” “Melrose Place,” "Community," "Running Russell Simmons," Betsey Johnson XO," “The L Word," E News Live, Forever 21, Google, and more.
At the band's launch, FOJC's popular debut single, “Hot Sahara” and its album, “Twist of the Banshees,” was so strongly supported by the WMC DJ community that it landed on the Grammy nominations ballot, with no knowledge of the band. The duo is Vocalist/Lyricist/Voice Over Artist Alicia Perrone and Bassist/Songwriter/Producer Victor James. Read more on Last.fm.
