Fufü-Ai
Fufü-Ai is a Spanish band from Barcelona's Mestizo scene, combining a "French touch" with lyrics in English, French and Spanish, and compositional styles ranging from pop to reggae, bossa, rock and punk.
When Fufü-ai's singer, Anouk Chauvet, arrived in Catalunya in 1995 she was a vocalist for Color Humano (a Franco-Spanish roots band). At that time she was working together with musician and producer Tomasín (Les Casse-Pieds, Mano Negra, Color Humano, Dusminguet, etc.). Since then Anouk writes lyrics, paints pictures, and participates in different projects in Barcelona such as Juanito Piquete, Muchachito Bombo Infierno, Pirates Urbains, Des+Karadas, etc.. Anouk and Tomasín came back together again in 2004 with the first acoustic collaboration of Laia Cardó (Brazuca Matraca), Juantxo Grajales (Doble Zero) and Eduard Mayora (Alquimistes Folls). During 2005 Fufü-ai went on a long tour called "La ruta de los elefantes" ("The elephant's route"), which brought the band to all of the key musical venues in Barcelona. Their first record "Petite fleur", was produced by Tomasín and released by Kasba Music in 2006. By then the band had gone electric, and they had presented their album all over France and Spain. When Oscar Blanco (Drums) and Fernando Redondo (Bass) joined the band in 2007 the current line up was complete. The same year they went back into the studio to record their second album "For Ever" (Kasba Music, Bcn).
