Gerra & Stone
Over the last two years, Gerra & Stone have rapidly proven themselves through their steady output of releases on Proximity, Alignment, and more recently signing to Dispatch Recordings. This has led to them gaining plays and support from some of the leading names in the scene, including DJ Hype, Marky, Doc Scott, S.P.Y, Kasra, Randall, DJ Die, and Nu:Tone to name a few.
Through this support they have amassed an ever increasing loyal fan base, and a packed gig schedule which has seen them tear down some of the best clubs and festivals across Europe. After their debut EP "Anywhere but Here" (released Feb 13th 2012) went straight in at number 4 in the Drum & Bass Arena Album Chart, it was clear the boys were onto something. This was cemented by Knowledge magazine naming them in their 'Top 10 Drum & Bass Producers to Watch in 2012' article shortly after.
The next single to be released was "Droneheads" on Alignment records, which went on to be remixed by none other than Octane & DLR, and subsequently featured on DJ Hazard's Fabriclive.65 CD. "Test Chamber" followed this, and received heavy rotation from key Drum & Bass figures; the most notable of these being DJ Hype on Kiss FM and Kasra on Rinse FM. Soon after the release the boys were invited to play Drum & Bass Arena TV, along with the rest of the Proximity Crew.
On 4th December they released "Smoke and Mirrors" on Proximity as part of the "Alliance EP". Not only did it reach a pole position of number 2 in the Juno Download chart, but was also rated 8 out of 10 in the January printed issue of seminal music magazine DJ Mag. Their first release of 2013, the "Crimson EP" came out on April 12th, again to critical acclaim from fans and electronic music media alike, with DJ Mag scoring it another consistent 8 out of 10.
Fast Forward to August and the pair signed to arguably one of the most respected labels in the game - Dispatch Recordings. Their debut outing on the label entitled "Back Hand/ Tenfold" dropped to huge acclaim, reaching #3 in the Beatport charts, with heavy support right across the scene.
Each Gerra & Stone release demonstrates a continual evolution of their sound. As they master their craft and fine-tune their style, whilst at the same time building a greatly accomplished and well received back catalogue, they are steadily rising up the ranks of new Drum & Bass artists to keep eyes on. With more releases in the production line for Dispatch Recordings, including their debut “Too Deep EP”, this shows no sign of slowing up!
