I Wish I
Summer of 1994, i*wish*i came to life after a random school yard skate session. With inspiration derived from Washington D.C. punk bands like Fugazi, Jawbox, Embrace and San Diego hardcore/punk bands like Drive Like Jehu and Amenity, i*w*i wrote songs that came from their young innocent hearts. With a loyal and growing fan base, the band began sharing stages with headlining acts such as Blink-182, Korn, P.O.D, and Sprung Monkey. In 1996, their first lp, “Drop in Standing” was released on Ambassador Records, a subsidiary of legendary hardcore label Revelation Records. The following year their second lp, “fahrenheit” was released on Dim Mak records, owned by iconic electro DJ Steve Aoki as the label’s second release. After the fahrenheit tour, the band went on hiatus with members exploring other musical ventures such as Jejune, Kill Holiday, The Landslide, as well as a professional skateboarding career. 2012, the band is picking up where they left off. Coming full circle reuniting with Dim Mak Records again, with an evolved sound while still retaining their hardcore/punk roots.
