Jarkko Ahola
Jarkko Kalevi Ahola (born 24th August 1977 in Toijala, Finland), or J. Ahola, is the lead singer, bass player and one of the songwriters in the Finnish power metal band Teräsbetoni. After Teräsbetoni went on a break in 2011 Ahola started a new hard rock band, AHOLA in which he plays the rhythm guitar and sings in English. He has also written most of the songs on AHOLA's two albums: Stoneface (2012) and Tug of War (2014). J. Ahola is part of the Finnish symphonic heavy metal supergroup Northern Kings together with Marco Hietala (Nightwish, Tarot), Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica) and JP Leppäluoto (Charon). Ahola also sings on several Raskasta Joulua (Heavy Christmas) albums and performs on Raskasta Joulua tours, and joined with the Oulu All Star Big Band for the 2010 album Big Band Goes Heavy. Ahola also sang on Dreamtale's album Difference.
Jarkko Ahola has published two Christmas albums in Finland, Ave Maria -joulun klassikot (2012) that has sold double platinum so far, and Suojelusenkeli - joulun klassikot 2 (2014) that has sold platinum. They were followed by Romanssi (2016), an album of classic love songs, that quickly sold gold in Finland. J. Ahola has a 3,5 octave vocal range and he is often called Finland's Ronnie James Dio. His latest solo album, Mä tuun sun luo, was published on 4.5.2018 and contains his own material. Ahola has also produced the album and plays many instruments on it.
