Jesterbells
In 1988 Oliver Goetzl founded, together with four friends, the band Jesterbells, which influences were the sounds of Felt and bands of Sarah Records. Since no german record company was willing to accept this band ( despite the growing guitar pop music scene in Germany ), Oliver founded an Indie label called Marsh Marigold Records ( the beginning of another legend ). The 7" EP Rain Keeps Falling was published in February 1989 as the first release of the label. Both the Jesterbells and Marsh Marigold Records soon aroused the interest of the emerging fanzine scene in Germany and in May 1989 the Jesterbells supported The Wedding Present. After the Jesterbells released in July 1989 the 7" EP Just Like Apples On The Tree, the band split in the summer of that year, but soon some members found together again in other ground-breaking german bands like Red Letter Day, Die Fünf Freunde or The Legendary Bang.
