Kaj
KAJ is a Finnish band and trio of entertainers from the little town of Vörå in Finnish Ostrobothnia. They sing primarily in their local Swedish dialect. The group consists of Kevin Holmström, Axel Åhman and Jakob Norrgård. The band's name is derived from the first letters of the members' first names.
KAJ was founded in 2009 and the first single, "Heimani i Skick", was released in 2012, followed by the first album, "Professionella Pjasalappar" in 2013. The band rose to fame after releasing the lead single from their upcoming second album "Jåo nåo e ja jåo YOLO ja nåo", in the summer of 2014. It quickly gained prominent radio play across Swedish-speaking radio stations in Finland. The band's second album, "Lokalproducerat Pjas", followed later the same year. In December 2014, the band collaborated with Finnish broadcasting company YLE to produce a Christmas calendar program for television. The program was broadcast online between December 1st 2014 and December 24th 2014, and featured the members of the band in a number of comedic sketches and music videos for new songs.
In late 2014 and early 2015, KAJ went on a tour across Finland, performing their songs as well as funny skits and sketches in dozens of towns, mostly in Swedish-speaking regions. In the summer of 2015, KAJ yet again occupied radio stations, as the single "Pa to ta na kako" was released.
KAJ repeated their successful tour in early 2016 and released yet another summer hit, "TACO HEJ (me. GU$TA)". In the fall of 2016, the band released their third album, "Kom ti Byin".
