2. Finnish new wave rock band Keba attended the annual Finnish Rock Championship competition in 1984 and got the third place. After that they released two albums: Keba (1985) and Koko ajan go-go (1987). Keba split up after their second album.
Musically Keba combined strong pop melodies with punk energy and some post-punk / new wave experimentation. While the band never had vast commercial success, their 1987 Helsinki-themed hit Kesä Espalla still gets occasional radio play. Their second album has gained a somewhat cult status and got the position of 29th "All-time Greatest Finnish Album" by the Finnish rock magazine Soundi in 2005. Read more on Last.fm.
