Kenji Williams
Kenji Williams is a violinist, music producer and a filmmaker, currently involved in numerous projects.
Classically trained in Violin since the age of 7, Kenji Williams, performs live ethereal violin, with a laptop and drum machine transmitting self-produced classics to the dance floor. Tracking Kenji's musical career, from serious classical violin training, to his early influences in Detroit and European techno and house, to 4 years touring with trance group Medicine Drum, the combination of ingredients that make the sound of ABA Structure fuse into an exotic, tantalising, and intoxicating sound that can be described as progressive, psychedelic techno, tech-house, and tech-trance (for uptempo) and ambient techno, electro space dub (for downtempo).
While Kenji Williams has been compared to the great underground experimental techno of Russ Gabriel and the Black Dog, Kenji's trademark use of highly expressive analog elements of voice and violin brings it into the sphere of sound acceptable by the mainstream, given comparisons to Underworld, Bjork, Orbital, and even Madonna (William Orbit). But clearly, there is nothing else like it.
Booked from Europe to America to Japan, Kenji Williams performs at house, techno, trance, and ambient events, from intimate underground gatherings, to 10,000 person massive outdoor productions in Japan, to multimedia shows with visionary artists such as Alex Grey and evolutionary philosophers and thinkers such as Ken Wilber. From the first ever "Illusion" EP release reaching a global audience of nearly 100,000 in collaboration with John Digweed's Bedrock label, to ambient releases with top labels such as Flying Rhino and Interchill, to the latest full length tech house, tech trance album "Faces of Epiphany"released with top Japanese label and event organization - Vision Quest, the network of recognition seems to be growing.
