Kevin Charm
Since moving to Australia from Indonesia at the age of 9, Kevin “Lucky” Charm has been surrounded by music – whether it be his classically-trained concert guitarist mum, songwriter father or pop-punk band in high school. Since taking up production in 2011 with one eye on pop music and the other securely toward the dancefloor, there was no luck involved when Charm became the national winner of the 2012 W&W remix competition, putting an epic spin on their track, Nowhere To Go.
In the 18-or so months since then Charm has worked with friend and producer jjoo on several releases, the most successful recently has been Superleggera. The Beatport-dominator has been championed by Above & Beyond on their ABGT radio shows, and more recently playlisted by trance legends ATB at their Ultra Music Festival and Electric Daisy Carnival sets. Likewise second single Aventador has picked up support from trance royalty Armin van Buuren and more, and his second remix competition win (this time for Armada Music) saw him adding his trademark charm to Tenishia & Ruben de Ronde’s Love Survives feat. Shannon Hurley.
While his heart lies in production, Charm has no qualms with getting in the DJ booth, having supported such luminaries as Roger Shah, Alex M.O.R.P.H, Chris Schweizer and Ben Nicky, along with a Creamfields appearance last year and a slot at the 2013 Stereosonic Festival.
