Kuffdam & Plant
The Kuffdam & Plant production duo started in early 2003 with the guys sharing a mutual love for dance music but this has quickly grown with the worldwide success of the recent tracks on JOOF and Vandit Records. The guys met over the internet and quickly formed a strong partnership despite being based in separate countries. Kuffdam hails from Scotland in the UK while Plant operates from his home in Cyprus. Despite having only met a handful of times, the guys have managed to overcome the lack of face-to-face contact with some amazing progressive and trance tracks.
The first production the guys worked on was simply titled Balearica after its summer Ibiza style flow and this was quickly picked up by German DJ Paul Van Dyk. PVD featured the un-signed track on his radio show Soundgarden and within days, the guys were signed to UK label 020 Records (Above The Sky).
The track was released along side the vocal trancer When I'm Missing You on November 2003 and the debut release is still played by PVD in 2004.
In February 2004, the duo's follow up track, Seduction, was snatched up by John OO Fleming for his label JOOF Recordings. This received massive support from Armin Van Buuren (on his ASOT radio show on ID&T), Tiesto, Matt Darey and many more. The track features 2 different mixes by Kuffdam & Plant, capturing both trance and a more psychedelic trance sound on the release.
Confirming themselves as quality remixers was the challenge Kuffdam & Plant wanted to take on next in 2004. First up was the JOOF Recordings release of Aquasource - Waking Up The Sun. Again Kuffdam & Plant's sound and work proved very popular with the likes of Armin, Matt Darey and Judge Jules to name but a few. Since this release in April of 2004, the guys have worked with labels such as New Emotion (UK) and Mazeman (Italy) on further remixes.
2005 has seen Kuffdam and Plant's first release on Paul Van Dyk's own label, Vandit (Germany). Vandit is one of the biggest trance labels in the world and after sending PVD an exclusive demo CD of their new track Summer Dream, PVD signed the track and requested to remix the record for the release along with Adam White & Andy Moor from Whiteroom. The track has already been a playlist favourite for PVD on his world tour and selected by Judge Jules as his "Tried & Tested" tune of the week plus aired 7 weeks running on radio 1.
Summer Dream was also one of the few records in 2005 to be signed to 2 labels covering different countries for release. Monster Tunes also signed the track and released in conjunction with the Vandit release with an exclusive remix by Stoneface & Terminal. To date the track has been used on over 15 compilation albums worldwide and still counting.
