Liz Cooper & The Stampede
Liz Cooper & The Stampede is an American psychedelic folk/rock band from Nashville, TN.
Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland, Liz Cooper never dreamed she would be the Folk-Blues Singer-Songwriter she is today. In fact, from a young age, everyone believed she was going to be a professional golfer. Golf was just a hobby for her though; music had always been a passion. It was something that she only pondered and dreamed of but it wasn't until her senior year of high school that she decided she wanted to pursue music as a career. Leaving behind her friends, family and college golf scholarship, Liz Cooper packed her things and moved to Nashville, TN. After wandering around town for the first few months getting to know the local music scene she eventually found her niche at Nashville Music House Recording Studio. Not only is this where her EP "Monsters" was recorded and mixed, but also where she met a group of friends to begin The Stampede. Known for her unique guitar picking and haunting tone, she is steadily making a name for herself in the music industry. Self proclaimed “the happiest girl,” Liz ironically describes her lyrics as dark and soulful. Growing up on classic rock artists such as The Grateful Dead and The Band definitely plays into Liz Cooper’s music, as well as current artists such as Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals and Rayland Baxter. Liz Cooper & The Stampede released their first EP in 2014. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
