Lord Lovidicus
Lord Lovidicus is the solo project of Crow from Connecticut in the United States. The name "Lord Lovidicus" is the name of a vampire in the video game "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" where Lord Lovidicus resides at his dungeon in the fort Crow Haven. It started in December 2009 with the release of Windbuchen. At that point the project was more of a ambient style of music, influenced by the ambient songs of Burzum, which is evident in the quantity of Burzum song covers. Next in February 2010 there was a compilation demo that was recorded, although it was not released on the internet. In the later songs of that demo, the music became more fantasy like than ambient, it started to become more inspired by Lord of the Rings than anything. This is obvious in the next two releases, Journey to Beleriand, and Quenta Silmarillion which were released in March and April, respectively.
Once May came, the style changed a bit, with the release of Trolldom. Crow wanted to release something with a similar sound to Windbuchen, for old times sake. The release was inspired by fantasy itself and included several cover songs.
For the next two months, the style was to be changed again, back to a style similar to Quenta Silmarillion, but more fantasy like. With the release of "The Forges Fire - EP" the Lord Lovidicus Logo changed a bit, signifying this transformation. At that point the project became more influenced by the Austrian band Summoning, as well as Lord of the Rings. The music became more trumpet and drum driven.
Now the music is to be perfected in that genre of "fantasy" by the upcoming release of "Daulu Bûrz-Ishi" (Drums in the Dark) in September 2010. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
