The five members of MAU project met in 2003, at the European Film College (Denmark), coming from Denmark, Portugal, France, Germany and Israel.
Composed by Pablo (vocals), Jonas (guitar), Pia (vocals), Luis (vocals/programming) and Shir (vocals), "MAU" stands for Man and Unable, name of their first released album.
Seven songs were composed and recorded by MAU at the EFC facilities. At the same time, two music videos were released: "Prick (I am)" an hillarious naughty video avaliable on youtube, and "I need a priest", avaliable on their website (www.projectmau.com).
With the support of friends, colleagues and teachers at the EFC, what started out as an experimental project based on samples and loops of everyday sounds, became a full-time job for the project members.
MAU project left Denmark in May 2004 to promote their work worldwide. The MAU's first album was mixed in Portugal (released in June 2005), as the band played some gigs to test the songs live. "Fragil", "Lounge" and "Santiago Alquimista" were some of the places where the band played so far. Read more on Last.fm.
