Manitoba
1. Manitoba is the former alias of Canadian electronic musician Dan Snaith. Snaith renamed himself Caribou in 2004 under threat of a lawsuit by Richard "Handsome Dick" Manitoba, who had used the surname professionally since the 1970s but had not released any music as a solo artist.
Snaith's two critically acclaimed albums as Manitoba – 2001's Start Breaking My Heart and 2003's Up In Flames, both originally issued by Leaf - have since been re-released under the Caribou name and listed as such in discographies.
